Never Understimate the power of a Makeover

Who else remembers watching powerhouses like Oprah or Trinny & Susannah give life-changing makeovers? When I was a teenager, I was in absolute awe of these transformations.

These women glowed in the positive reactions of their family and friends. They immediately oozed confidence and radiated beauty. Most importantly, after each makeover, these women looked and felt empowered and happy. This is why my Fabulous on Friday Glow Ups mean so much to me.

If you follow me on social media you already know that these are sessions where I give makeovers to deserving women. I’m so excited to share this story from a session last year.

It’s not every day that you get to meet selfless, kind-hearted individuals who you just click with! A little while back, I had the pleasure of meeting Deb, who was nominated by her friend Meaghan for a makeup lesson and glow-up.

Deb is a dedicated working mum of a daughter living with a disability. In her own words, Deb “always puts herself last.” Her confidence when it came to applying makeup was low. Like so many of us, she had been using the same products for many years.

When we tested the two foundations Deb was using, we found they were both too light for her, and the BB cream she was using was quite matte, making her skin look dull.

My main goal for the session was to ensure she had the right products and to teach her some quick and easy techniques for her makeup routine going forward. Deb wanted to know how to apply natural-looking makeup, and I wanted to make it doable for her busy lifestyle.
